Is it me or are those yellow stripes above the 50 also meant to represent the Striped logo?

Is this show actually available online? I can't seem to find it on their site.

What I have however found is the first episode of some half hour drama programme they made called Island in 1996. It's just been uploaded by Channel themselves. Anyone remember it being networked at all?

Awful theme tune.

I seem to have a vague recollection that 'Island ' was actually on CITV. Just watched it now. it's not as bad as I remember it being, and seems to have a lot of actors who would end up in 'The Bill' in there. There are some cameos from local 'celebrities' of the time too.

That was my immediate thought, yes.

I mentioned this on another thread the other week, it was indeed networked and at the time Channel said they were hoping to get more network commissions and were modelling themselves on something like Hat Trick, as independent production companies even smaller than Channel could make big shows. Island was created by Adele Rose, who created Byker Grove, and the hope by Channel and ITV was that it could prove as successful and as long-running as that. But it only lasted a series, alas.

For those who might be interested, here is a documentary that students at my workplace made for Channel's 50th Anniversary.

From a pres point of view, there's some old idents in there that I had to make 16:9 versions of. Also used Dave Jeffreys re-creation of the Hexagon ident to help make the title sequence Smile

God... does that mean Oscar's 50 next month?!

It seems like he was only 40 yesterday!

My mate was a puppet operator for an episode of Puffins Place or whatever it's called. Last minute stand in apparently. Says it's the highlight of his career, without a hint of irony.
