Last night's BBC2 50th Birthday-related programme ‘The Comedy Vaults: BBC2’s Hidden Treasure’ began with a playout of Mirror (played with Zoetrope soundtrack) with a finger entering from the bottom of the screen at the end, before ‘tapping’ onto the ident, where it disappeared into a BBC2 idents era graphic. This graphic showed various BBC2 ident eras along with a symbol still to represent each era. When I saw that graphic, I thought we may get some further reference to idents, but nothing more except various BBC2 symbols shown in the background during interviews.

The graphics on the programme were made to look as though they were on a tablet device.
The programme opened with a BBC2 ident which was then followed by an idents menu with several icons depicting the various eras of branding, Mr. Page thought this suggested there may be further idents featured in the programme, but that was not the case. However, various symbols were incorporated into the background during the talking head interviews.

Every single one of those things shown should have been added to BBC iPlayer for us to watch in it's entirety
The tablet-style icons also depicted other juicy things, such as the pilot of Have I Got News For You (never previously broadcast), but the finger never decided to click on them. A great way to annoy and disappoint your viewers!

The pilot clips chosen were slightly disappointing. Seven of One has been shown several times and was on Go On Laugh Daily within the past few months. The QI pilot has been released on DVD and was on Youtube at some point too. I have also seen the Anne Robinson programme before too, although I can't remember where. I was really hoping for something slightly rarer.

(Sun 25th on BBC2:) Harry and Paul's Story of the 2s
Strange title. Sounds like a programme about BBC2's idents
(I wish!)
