I'd have to go for 'Ministry of Silly Walks' as Number 1 of those listed.

My own personal favourite would be the 'HOECS' computer games paedophiles are meant to use in the infamous 'Brass Eye' special though. Works on so many levels.

PS. I bought the entire Monty Python series on DVD two weeks ago and it's **** marvellous. Don't want to sound jingoistic here, but that shows why British humour will always be the best.

the show itself was appauling though as it hacked the sketches to bits and reoved all humour from them.

I agree. They would whizz through some of the clips (often not showing them in full) yet concentrate on about four 'talking heads' for each clip all making the same points and explaining why it's *so* funny.

My head was starting to buzz after an hour or so becuase of the sheer volume of analysis. "It's funny because Andy is in a wheelchair, but can actually walk. Lou does not know this.. blah blah."

It was a bit insulting to anyone who actually has a sense of humour and could understand why the sketches were funny for themselves. Also, only a couple of people actually said they didn't like one of the aritsts. In this case it was Avid Merrion. It would've been a bit more refreshing if not everyone on the show loved every single sketch so much that it was the funniest thing ever written until the next sketch. Became a bit tiresome really.

In retrospect, I guess I could've watched something else. These shows are strangely addictive, aren't they?

The problem with this show was it broke the basic rule.....NEVER ANALYSE COMEDY!! Once you do that it stops being funny.

In terms of surrealness the Masterchef from Reeves and Mortimer is the maddest thing I've ever seen, Lloyd Grossman floating and the bell chiming is just ridiculously brilliant Exclamation

Why did they change the Rod Stewart song in the Kenny Everett sketch> It was originally 'Do You Think I'm Sexy?'

Ive gone into arguments over it in the past, yes british humour is 'better' than american but I would'nt say that to an americans face becuase id be called 'rasict' but In great detail I can explain why UK humor is superior to that of our american cousains

Call me a bluff old traditionalist, but nothing beats the Dead Parrot Sketch!

Indeed - Gerald was featured when I first tuned in. Can't remember where it was in the list though sadly. I didn't watch all the way to the end mainly because I was disapointed they only featured excerpts from each sketch along with analysis from others. I was amused by the analysis of Bo Slecta! though - they basically all thought it was sh*t except the bloke from Channel Four that comissioned it...

My personal top sketches would be Four Candles or Mastermind by The Two Ronnies (though I do like Swear Box too), Two Soups by Victoria Wood and Mr Spiggot Auditioning for the Part of Tarzan from Pete and Dud.

Surprised Morecambe and Wise weren't higher, but very glad The Two Ronnies beat them. Smile Always had a soft spot for The Two Ronnies Squash sketch where Barker is in a suit and beats Corbett at it, even though he's playing it for the first time. BRILLIANT Exclamation Exclamation
