So, the new time slot (and maybe relaunch?) for 5 News is a little over a week away. Does anyone know who will be presenting the new bulletins at 5.30 and 7.30? I think Charlie Stayt is doing the 7.30, so that leaves the 5.30 one - Claire Byrne perhaps?
Any confirmation anywhere, ie. Digiguide or something? Mine won't give me program details as I've not registered it, but it usually gives a presenter for 5 News. Can someone check, if they've got it, and also to see the description for the ITN News Channel on 5 between 6 and 7am for the simulcast? I think Alison Bell will be doing that, as she does early mornings at the moment.

I've checked DG, and it doesn't give a presenter for the ITN News Channel simulcast.

Both the evening 5 News programmes have Charlie Stayt listed.

By the way, you can get 14 day listings free of charge by using the online versions: MyDigiguide or UKTV Guide Smile

Just register (for free), and select your channels from the list Smile

Well it could be a relaunch, as it is going to be called ITN 5 NEWS from then on...
I hope they have a better studio, they deserve it!
And I like the standing up thing, it's polite to stand when talking

With the ITN branding, maybe it will go out into the ITN Newsroom.

As they are taking the ITN News Channel at breakfast, don't you think that the rest of the bulletins should look like that too ?

Yes, but BBC Breakfast and GMTV don't look like news broadcasts through the rest of the day on BBC/ITV. Yes, BBC is similar but there are differences and I'm sure Channel 5 will have differences. Will be interesting to see if they do have a new studio a week on Monday...

I honestly hope that Channel 5 get a new studio... the first studio they used was nice and colourful, it fitted in with the style, but now it just looks very medical and white... The mirrored table also looks a bit dodgy?

Yeah very, will they change thee music? I don't think they should, its versatile and very good.

I watched 5 News quite a bit when it was on at 8.30pm after launch - thought it was a good time when there was no bulletin and fitted in with the continental style of bulletins between 7 and 9 - which we don't have here... At Six (or 5.30) it surely can't compete and at 7.30 you have the big soaps every day of the week.

I don't think we should get too carried away here. The name 'ITN 5 News' is only a rumour, and don't forget that the last studio lasted three years whereas this one is only a year and a half old. Perhaps a change to a few bits and pieces is coming, but don't get your hopes up is my advice.

True - because it's seemingly still listed as 5 News in the listings. Both bulletins also listed as Charlie Stayt. I'm thinking the look will probably not change!

I doubt that there will be major changes. Remember last time- there were loads of silly idents featuring Andrea Catherwood, teasing us by having her in different chairs so that we had to guess if she would be sat or stood whilst presenting. Very unprofessional, but then again, Channel 5 have gone a lot more serious lately.

Hey, maybe the ITN Channel will get a bit of a revamp for its terrestrial debut! God, how many sets of graphics have they had already? I think it's 'any excuse' for them!

Yes, maybe Channel 5 will do something. They probably know that their news looks a bit cheap at the moment, so they'll have to compete well with Corrie and Eastenders to succeed.

And I don't really think that Charlie Stayt is very 'Channel 5'. 5 News is better with a female presenter, but then I'm male and would say that, wouldn't I?
