Looks like 4Music has had a bit of a new look, on-air anyway. New 2D refresh of the logo with more rounded corners and opaque DOG. Information text that virtually every music channel has is now next to the logo instead of on the right.

Yeah they have. I prefer the old logo myself.

Why is it pretty much without exception when a channel relaunches they try and get away with a fairly opaque DOG which they have to tone down within weeks.

Prefer the 3D logo myself too - but that look has served them for about three and a half years, so not bad really.

It's all pretty slick.

The on screen graphics as demonstrated in the video above are just too intrusive, the idents however are fantastic if feeling a little disjointed.

Just hope the idents don't end up being cut to shreds as they are a bit on the long side - though I suspect they have shorter versions available to them too.

In the context of a music channel with a screen full of junk the on screen presentation isn't too bad at all - other channels would have the same amount of blurb but on an opaque background so it would be much more obtrusive. Not seen anything of their trailer or menu style yet though - I suspect though they might have dropped the timeline styled menu as More4 did when they revamped. That's one slight issue I've had with C4 since it revamped it's own menu style but left the other channels with the old style - wouldn't take much surely just to tweak the other packages so they all have a similar style with the menu on the right.

It's a music channel... generally people don't sit in front of it like they're watching the Antiques Roadshow... just look at the other news channels... OTT graphics and intrusive text is part of the package.

I watched earlier and as the picture quality was so terrible I had to switch off. The new look is OK, but the graphics never stay still!

It's a shame that none of the music channels bar MTVNHD which mostly shows Live concerts are in HD. We could do with a music channel over here which shows music videos in HD all day long.

We could do with a music channel that shows music videos all day long, never mind HD. 4Music is now pretty much music videos during the day, E4 Gold at night and 4Sport in the wee hours of the morning.
