The picture quality is a bit rubbish, its not unwatchable though. Its slightly pixellated and a little fuzzy with Big Brother. They seem to be having slight continuity problems because coming in and out of any programmes I've seen on the channel there seems to be slight technical issues that last a fraction of a second. The start of Big Brother was heavily pixellated for a short fraction of time and coming out of a programme earlier on was a green screen which lasted a very short amount of time.

I've noticed that on Freeview it seems that TMF is sucking the precious bandwidth and leaving 4Music looking awful in fast motion scenes. Eg: TMF is at 4mb - 5mb frequently and The Hits/4Music is at 1 - 3.6 mb. Which wasn't the case a few months ago.

I've had to turn 4Music off and watch this BB Live on the Sky red button. This is not good visually at all. When a coloured like is on either Rachel or Kat it seems to go into block colour and go awfully pixellated.

Just had a look on the VM box and the quality on there is relatively poor too, the colours look dull and the picture seems slightly blurred. Is it the same on Sky?

Yeah, the live feed is on E4 now anyway so I expect a lot of people have switched over to that if they want a better quality. Even if you flick between E4 and 4Music, the same thing is being show but there is a considerable difference.

I'm not saying its a bad picture at all, its perfectly watchable, its just lower quality than the rest of the Channel 4 channels. I suppose its always been like that but I've never really noticed because I've not been able to directly compare it with anything else.

Well my antique VM box is quite overheated, so I suppose that's having an effect on the picture quality somewhat!


Yep - it is watchable, it's just slightly annoying that the quality isn't as good as it should be; but on Freeview with the low bandwidth the channel has, its hardly surprising.

The thing is though, it never really looked that bad, somehow I think Stat Muxing settings changed giving TMF more favour with the bandwidth over 4Music. I dunno if it was by mistake or something but it needs to return to how it was, looks awful.
