Should be interesting... but I expect the majority will be 4:3

Well Its hard to say. The house has a 16:9 tv, with 4:3 in numerous bedrooms and other rooms. What should i vote for then?

Yup, same here too, though I prefer the 16:9 TV as it is big obviously and it has Dolby Pro Logic Sound which makes it even better IMO.

I find it strange that manufacturers don't produce anything smaller than 24" widescreen televisions. I for one would love an 18" widescreen for my bedroom, but have been forced to buy a 14" 4:3 model instead.
We are told that widescreen is the future, yet there is currently no portable solution available.

Anyway, would anyone like to guess when pure 16:9 widescreen will be implemented - i.e without 4:3 safe considerations?

I've seen 20" Sony widescreens but I don't think they still make them.

16:9 LCD computer monitor screens are starting to trickle on to the market.

In the multimedia age, one will be tossing out the 4:3 Television in the bedroom and replacing it with a PC and a DVB-t PCI card or DVB-s PCI card (brands include Nebula or Hauppauge) or USB DVB-t box (eg Hauppauge DEC2000T) plus a 16:9 monitor.

So not only will you be able to watch broadcast TV in your bedroom, you will be able to watch DVDs,
listen to DAB radio (subject to availability), and your huge collection of MP3 files, whilst drifting off to sleep.

I don't think "TV on your PC" will ever really catch on a lot. Firstly there are people who can't work computers at all (my Sister and my Mother). Secondly, I like having the telly on in the background whilst, for example, reading my e-mails.

I have one 4:3 TV (in my room) and one 16:9 TV (the main one, in the living room). So I voted for 16:9.

It's interesting to see that more people have a 16:9 TV.

I've got a 48" Sony flatscreen telly in my living room and a 38" Bush telly in my conservatory, both are widescreen.

The TV in my room is 4:3, but it's not a portable telly, it's about 28" 4:3. That's what I'm taking to my new house.
