The music lets it down. Each ident should have an individual tune. That can be easily changed and hopefully it will in the future.
IMO, these idents have longevity. There is so much you can do with them and many can be addded. I just hope the promos and ECP's are changed soon, to reflect the black text in the logo (which i think works really well now).

Personally I thought the music on the emotions set was so annoying after a while. The current music isnt annoying yet but it might be after a few months!

despite the improvements - the current set still strikes me as the same old bland 'emotional' guff which alsp defined the previous idents. Nice to look at but ultimately meaningless.
i could see the meaning behind the celebrities (however flawed) as they at least attempted to show what the channel was all about

Sorry to say I'm too young to remember the idents before the graphic squares very well. I can remember the celebrity idents, but not well enough to know what the difference between the two sets were. I remember the regional idents (Carlton and LWT - now ITV London (which I don't like as I
don't
live in London, but that's off topic)). Out of the three I can remember, I'd say probably the current ones. The old man rubbing his stomach was disgusting and the graphic squares seemed to cold and corporate - although at least they didn't have to have some abstract theme, they were the channel logo full stop.
