I tried the 4od program but I just dont like it, the software is outdated and a bit annoying to use and its very overpriced considering how much the BBC gives away for free, which will be even more when they release the BBC iPlayer.

Surely a better model would be on-demand and ad supported (but obviously certain people are worried about this infringing on DVD sales)

What are everyone else's views on 4od?

It will be free soon, so our comments on proicing are irrelevant. I have never used it, but would if it was free.

I liked the free cbb episodes, but downloads are a bit tedious and software isnt very nice either

The programmes take too long to download for me. Besides that (and when it becomes free) I will give it the thumbs up!

I've not used the PC-based 4od (being a Mac user), but do like the 4od services on Virgin Cable. Drop the Dead Donkey from 1991? Yes please!

i also like the Cable 4oD service on virgin media. And for seconds, they cut out the ad breaks and you get a full Neon ident at the begining with no CA! Laughing

Not tried it myself but more likely too when it goes free.

Heard bad things about the download times though - if you demand something you want it now, not a couple of hours later, so a click and play service would be better.
