Watching tonight's 'You Have Been Watching' I see the 3 sponsor stings have been replaced with a very basic caption.

I do know lots of people complained about the very unfunny and annoying standup man on the old stings so have Channel 4 acted upon complaints? Don't think it's happened before has it?

I doubt any one would have complained and even if they did, It's not up to Channel 4 what's in the sting.

I presume that '3' were just reacting to the negative feedback about the old ones

Am I the only one who quite liked these at first? Most of the jokes were okay and although the fella seemed to be copying Eddie Izzard in his style of delivery, I didn't hate him.

The problem was that they were on every show that I watched on Channel 4 (maybe I just watch a lot of 'new comedy') and there were only about six jokes. They got boring for me after seeing each one about 5 times.

I thought they were terrible right from the start, good riddance.

They've been gone a few days now. I can't remember which other programmes are sponsored by 3, but I - for one - am glad to see the back of them.

I read an article/interview with the comedian a couple of weeks ago (I can't find it at the mo). The reason they're as they are is because he was constrained by the short duration and the restrictions on content put on him by '3' and the limitations of what you can put in sponsor stings.

EDIT - in fact here it is: http://watchwithmothers.net/2009/08/11/those-comedy-3-mobile-adverts/
