Three of the best, some random, idle banter:

1) Vivien Creegor - having seen her on Sky the last couple of nights (havent done that for a while) I have suddenly noticed how good she is. She's probably the most under-rated news presenter in the country, and I'm surprised the BBC or ITV have not snapped her up before! She rocks!!

2) Sarah Montague - one of the original N24 presenters - was on last night with Peter Dobbie on her old evening slot she used to do with Gavin. Any one know why she made this return appearance yesterday? It had been Liz Pike standing in for Carrie Gracie all week. I thought Sarah Montague now only did Radio 4 and the odd BBC1 weekend news shift.

3) Julia Somerville - some sad news. She's quit ITN after 14 years. I suppose it was to be expected really after they elbowed her from ITV news to the ITN channel, which she's not done for ages, and then on to the radio in London which has also now finished. Has she got a new job somewhere else?

Liz could have been presenting BBC World yesterday, so that could be a reason to that one! Also, Gwenan Edwards made an appearance yesterday to replace Jane Hill who was in Washington, great to see her! And today, instead of his 4.00pm-7.00pm shift, Matthew Amroliwala (don't quite know the spelling) was presenting with Valerie between 1.00pm and 4.00pm!

It has been quite a strange week on News 24 with all these presenter changes, but I like them!

And for those who like Adrian Finnigan, he's doing the overnight shift tonight on News 24 and World!

I think Sophie Raworth's doing a good job as a newsreader-cum-breakfast television presenter. Goes to show that Ex-Woodhouse Laners have talent!

Do you mean Liz Pike, I don't think I have ever seen her on WORLD, yesterday night was presented by Philip Hayton.

Oh yes Liz Pike has been on BBC World quite a few times! Even though I can't receive BBC World, I've seen her over the live feed on the website.

I saw her once during the BBC Bomb, but can't remember when she made an appearance, all I know was that she was a presenter of BBC WORLD in the 90's.

I think it was during Breakfast that morning of the night after the bomb! But I can assure you she has been presenting BBC World recently!Smile

Viv has worked for the Beeb. She left in 1989 when Sky News launched. She has a perfect voice for the Today programme.

On the subject of Today, Montague has been touted as the replacement for Sue Macgregor, when she leaves the programme. Used to be a business presenter on Sky News, no less.
