News is coming in to me from ex colleagues that the ITN News channel is set to close this weekend, Alison Bell quit last Friday, the radio channel has stoped broadcasting and the channel seems to have stopped broadcasting on DTT (though I'm not sure about that).
With the greatest of respect, n@7, and I'm not disputing what you say:
a) One presenter leaving does not close a news channel. ITN have had many presenters come and go in the relatively short space of time that they have been on air, I don't reckon that this would be a hugely influencial factor, to be honest
b) The radio hasn't stopped broadcasting, as someone has pointed out
c) It hasn't gone off DTT
So... nothing much has changed, to be honest.
It wouldn't surprise me, though. ITN have made very little effort with the channel and should've been aware even before its launch that they could never have made a go of it. It was ill thought out from the start.
And the Daily Mail really should know about ITN's financial situation... it does actually own a large quantity of the company and the Mail's editor is the brother of one of the ITN bosses.

This could be rubbish I guess we shall just have to wait and see.
Have a cool weekend folks!
But I think it is nothing, we hear this all the time don't we!
And also C@t you are right:

So I guess we'll just have to see what happens, either way I don't watch, so it's no real loss for national digital television.

wonder where alison will go, she is one of my faves off of itn. I have noticed that a few of the itn presenters have also been moonlighting on EuroNews. I feel really sorry for the presenters on ITNNC because they must know they get just a few thousand viewers. Also when itnnc launched it was meant to be really hi-tech and interactive, yet all of this has gone, their website is terrible and interactive only works on ntl.

Lots of ITN staff are at News 24.
Tim Willcox - now full time I think as he's always there and doing reports
Simon Vigar - sport
Martin Popplewell - presenting this morning
She'll probably go to the BBC or Sky News. I think she would be very suited for both of these.
As for their interactive, the red button only works on ntl but we can access it through the Interactive button. Still crap though. Think I've only used it once.

do you mean on sky digital Mike...? if so i did not konw it existed -what does it offer - how does it look?
Alison Bell is on Sky News right now, doing the overnight shift. She looks a bit like an older Julie Etchingham when she holds her head at a certain angle. In my opinion.
(As for Ryan's comments about red button - well, we don't get it on Sky News so it's quite fair to me! Lol! Honestly though, nothing much there. Just HTML pages!)
