I was thinking. we get most subjects 24 hrs a day i.e. news, sport, business, factual etc. I bet someone has it up there sleeve for a 24 hr soap e.g. emmerdale 24hrs a day seven days a week. obviously it would be difficult as a huge cast would be needed and they would have to produce it live. I bet some mug will try it. Would you watch it or get bored of it.
Err... this has already happened.
Sky had Sky Soap, a channel dedicated to.. soaps.
It was closed down in about 1997.
Also, does anyone have any idea as to what happened to Sky Scottish? The Scottish channel from Sky, suprise suprise.
What ever happened to the incredible Sky Soap? Anyone remember it, or is it still on?

Sky Scottish was joint owned by Sky and SMG, and had the Scottish TV Thistle logo in it's logo. I think lack of ratings caused them to end the agreement, and close the channel. This is also why Sky Soap closed.

Good question - 4 idents exist for Sky Soap, and 2 for Sky Scottish. (Scottish has generic stripe version 2 and egg Sky logo, Soap also has generic stripe version 1 and non generic stripe!)
Ooh, sounds good, anybody got them, i'm looking at you Chesh!

There are a couple of 24-hour soap networks here in America. I think the one that I can remember is called 'SoapNet.' The play a lot of older soap operas, as well as soon recent ones. It's (of course) a crappy channel.

If you mean on the channel…I don't think so. I've never watched it any my satellite company doesn't carry it. But my cable company carried it, before I switched.

As ratings were so bad for Sky Soap and Sky Scottish, they should have combined the two channels and just shown episodes of Take the High Road. God, I'm wasted.
