Wouldn't take this to be typical of a real recording session.

Yes, normally they're a lot slower!

It's a shame that BBC2 are showing Pages From Ceefax overnight when this is happening live and is available to be shown for very little (if any) extra cost

Not sure if it's the same for everyone but just out of interest, anyone with a YouTube account seen the Catch-Up promo box for a certain Channel 5 show?

Puts things into slight perspective...!

Got a screenshot lmao

Surely someone is paid to check these things xD

Yes, most surprising what with Google's "oh so strict" lockdown rules on everything. I'd imagine it's american TV coding e.g. such material doesn't get broadcast over there so it's not been considered so to speak.

Back to live stream, Stephen Fry is doing brilliantly, despite looking more knackered than Walliams!

Stereotypical view of what people on the net in the early hours want I guess, although I doubt many will be hitting YouTube. Hover over it lists the show it relates to so must be genuine.

That aside, I'm enjoying QI and that's from someone who's never seen a complete episode!

Are the rules maybe a bit more lax for broadcasting online than live(ish) on TV? Less red tape maybe?

Guessing theres too much risk in airing it live(ish) on TV. No time for the lawyers to go over it properly.

Well if there's people making it safe enough for streaming online using a 10 minute delay then surely it's legalised enough for the telly? If not I'm sure they could just ramp up the compliance for a few hours

For me (someone who doesn't live in the UK and therefore hasn't ever been to a live TV recording) it is certainly interesting to see what a TV show recording actually looks like.

Oh I imagine, its just interesting to see how much editing improves a show. Clearly bad jokes, uncomfortable silences and parts where Stephen Fry doesn't know something and has to check his notes are edited out. We also saw the warmup comedian, who spends half of his time telling the audience that they have to laugh LOUD, AS LOUD AS POSSIBLE!

I'd imagine not when it comes to bbc.co.uk, the beeb are ultra-careful about everything these days

Really enjoyed watching QI just now. It's madness that this isn't on the red button, or being shown in place of all the dross on BBC Three. Best bit of live telly I've seen on the BBC for years, except it isn't actually on telly. Some decision maker at the BBC has spectacularly missed the point of this, and missed a great television opportunity.

Looking forward to seeing Lee Hurst back on They Think It's All Over after all these years.

I fell asleep sometime after QI last night and woke up around the time Give Us A Clue began, have to say David seemed to be at best on both of those shows from what I've seen. Have I Got News for You took a long time to show up, lots of filler clips, when it did show up only Patrick Keilty as host and Lembit Opik showed up from the advertised list.

I've really enjoyed dipping in and out and it is ashame that it has not been streamed on TV. It gives an insight into how shows are recorded for those who have never been to a recording.

Well I'm sorry, I tried to stay up, but with a two little children undoubtedly getting up at 7am, I had to give in after QI! Back with it now - HIGNFY seems to be quite good - Lembit's coming in for a pasting but then that's only fair Smile It seems a little bit of a shame that Walliams couldn't persuade more of the regulars from these panel shows to take part. Neither Ian Hislop nor Paul Merton are on HIGNFY for instance.

That said, the line up for Give Us a Clue looks almost totally authentic Sara Cox, Christopher Biggins, Lionel Blair, Una Stubbs, Holly Walsh, Jenni Falconer and David Walliams. Anyone see it? Was it any good? It might be considered a totally lame parlour game by TV executives these days, but I always enjoyed the show and I reckon if it got a revival it would find an audience so long as they had the confidence to put it in the right slot. It used to be an afternoons thing on ITV didn't it?

Which theme tune did they use for Give us a Clue? The cheesy version after the Grange Hill theme?
