Oh god! I wished I'd never read this thread. Someone should have written SPOILER somewhere.

LOL! What did you come into a thread that had "Series 3" written at the beginning?!?! You only have yourself to blame, sir.

Have the BBC already bought the rights to broadcast this series?

As I last heard the BBC have got the rights to Season 3, plus the rights to advance show episodes on BBC 3 (see point below). Pure 24 has been commissioned for a second series to run on BBC 3.

However, this is all up the air because of the BBC going unencrypted on DSAT. Fox aren't too happy with this, and theoretically could charge the BBC for broadcast in all countriest that could pick up BBC channels using excessively big satellites. This is also a problem for the terrestrial premiere of the first Harry Potter film (probably BBC1's big Christmas day film) so we should know by then.

It worst came to worst, 24 may only be shown on BBC2 analogue, but I think this is highly unlikely.

Stupid rumours - Fox were happy for the BBC to show Fight Club last night, which they made - albeit the film and not TV arm.

There's been rumours about this going around for ages, and quite honestly, I don't believe everything I read.

Even on the off chance it's true, it'll be BSkyB sabre rattling to get the BBC to pay for conditional access - something they're still p!ssed they aren't getting.

Speaking of the BBC and fighting, what happened with Fight Box (was that the name?) that they kept advertising on the BBC as being a new show where you create a gaming champion online.

DId this ever take place or was it abandoned?

The adverts were to launch the the website. The BBC said they would let the project develop as an internet game for 6 months before launching the TV arm on BBC2 and 3....i.e. exactly what they did for celebdaq (although this was left for longer because of the delay in BBC3 launching).

Fightbox starts soon on BBC3, later on BBC2, but both before the New Year, presented by Trevor Nelson and some other girl. Details on the BBC Press Office site.

Sometime in the new year - possibly February.

Hm. When will UK viewers get the series? I think that Sky|One should get digital rights (if not before BBC then at the same time) - purely so that
a) The epsiodes will run along the correct time frame.
b) They can then organise a 24 marathon on Sky Box Office.
