Looks interesting, I presume its the virus that will take up this series/season then.
Whats more interesting is the fact that its in association with Ford and the next F-150, and the fact that its presented without commercial interuption due to this.
So does this mean that each episode will be real time 60 minutes so it is even more like real time?
And how will this work? Will they have just sponsered the slot on fox so that fox dont have to play out adverts to make up the money?
Have the BBC already bought the rights to broadcast this series? It would be nice to see it kept on the Beeb, as if each episode is made to be 60 minutes, then I'd rather watch it on the Beeb, as even though fox are going without commercials, if it went to itv, channel4 or five, they would still have commercials in it!
Nope, only the first episode is commercial free, making it about 5 minutes longer (there are still commercials at the beginning and end so it's not a full hour). AFAIK, the BBC are showing it again from about February. About time it got the promotion it deserves to the post-Casualty slot on BBC One?
Ah! All of that promotion on the trailer alone for the first episode. They should move to the UK if they want it advert free.
Would post casualty mean saturday night?
I think it is great on a sunday. There's always something to watch up to and around 24 on a sunday. I dont like how itv try and schedule good stuff against it, such as the harry hill show and the sketch show; they will only get poor ratings if you put them up against 24.
So apparently this series is based a few years on from the end of season 2. The fact that nothing really happened to Palmer renders the season 2 climax a bit pointless, it's looking as if that was just thrown in as a last minute idea to create a tense ending after the episode climaxed a bit early.
Apparently Kate, who was to be Jack's new love interest only figures very briefly in the new series, apparently at the start of the new season the relationship has already come to an end. Will there be a role for Cherie ?? She's such a fab scheming character, she has to be in it. Also, what of Nina ? What was it that Jack whispered to her in season 2, will she ever re-appear ?
Good to see that Kim finally has a role, but a CTU agent ??? From the trailer it looks like the premise of the new season is that Jack has turned into a drugie, and the outbreak of some kind of deadly virus. Is it curtains for Jack ?
Have the BBC already bought the rights to broadcast this series?
As I last heard the BBC have got the rights to Season 3, plus the rights to advance show episodes on BBC 3 (see point below). Pure 24 has been commissioned for a second series to run on BBC 3.
However, this is all up the air because of the BBC going unencrypted on DSAT. Fox aren't too happy with this, and theoretically could charge the BBC for broadcast in all countriest that could pick up BBC channels using excessively big satellites. This is also a problem for the terrestrial premiere of the first Harry Potter film (probably BBC1's big Christmas day film) so we should know by then.
It worst came to worst, 24 may only be shown on BBC2 analogue, but I think this is highly unlikely.
Oh god! I wished I'd never read this thread. Someone should have written SPOILER somewhere.
I am a very late newcomer to 24 after only seeing the first 4 episodes on DVD here in Paris. Got me addicted within minutes and have since been downloading each episode from Kazaa. Half way through series one only and have series two arriving via amazon.
Series 2 only began here on Saturday and it was the front page of one of France's national newspapers. Liberation. see this URL Liberation
