Do we normally see the STV logo? Things obviously very amicable between the broadcasters at the moment. Just a shame the "s" gets somewhat lost - they need to have a white version really.

The alignment on that graphic is all over the place.

Re: Lower Third Score Graphics - on the ITV highlights last night ITV must have added their own (in the FIFA style) which basically replaced the flipper with a list without the multiple scorers getting multiple lines.

Is the delay on BT UHD matches as large as the World Cup one?

We have a monitor showing the same match in HD, via the Sky platform and a local IPTV system, and a UHD TV on the BT TV system, and they're more or less in sync. So maybe a second or so compared to HD.

Probably my only gripe with the ITV scoreboard.

Nice to know that the spacing's been fixed.

Not a fan of itvs scoreboard, the clock is unreadable, their virtual studio is clever how does it know to map the top half of Red Square with the live window below?

Someone tells it to.

It’s very clever though seems to match the sky on the live view below though, unless there is an actual window there and they cleverly mapped the virtual graphic around it.

Could there be a camera above the studio?

Not had chance yet to see ITV's studio in action, or indeed the titles. From the caps it is a bit too virtual for my liking.

I imagine there is a camera above the studio.

What is clever is how it isn’t a locked off shot, as the real view moves, the virtual one moves as well.

How are they doing the bit where the real window view changes into a view of the stadium? Interesting how both BBC and ITV have decided to do that sort of thing this year, The BBC’s Being virtual windows at the other side of the studio.

It's definitely one of those things that on paper sounds like it could be awful, but in reality it looks fantastic.

I think the virtual also expands to the ceiling on the virtual studio part of the bbc, otherwise it would be the first studio with no studio lighting.

It actually works quite well that’s a very clever bit of virtual ness on itvs part with the Windows.

One critical element of the UHD coverage is the Latency. My feed is 82 seconds behind Freeview SD. The encoding and decoding must be speeded up.

Does it really matter ?

I see we’ve already forgotten the days when your analogue-only next door neighbours could be heard cheering 5 seconds before the digibox caught up.

Well, the days of viewing an event just a couple of hundred milliseconds after it's happened are well and truly over, just like free food and drink on short haul BA flights, politicians with any integrity, or technical help-desks staffed by technically qualified people.

It's not UHD per se, some radio stations are over a minute late via streaming. I can walk from the kitchen with a DAB radio, to my study with the same station streaming on the PC, and hear most of a song all over again !

Looks much better on screen than in the caps - side windows presumably virtual too.

Not a huge fan of the titles though - much prefer the BBC effort and their theme really growing on me.
