I think you answered your own question there.
I'd imagine that one of the backup paths for live games involves having the world feed available in London or Salford. The matches are all on one of two satellite paths, and I'd imagine broadcasters will just be staying across both paths all day, especially if they'll be taking a game from the other one later on.

It was very quick after losing the studio to cut to the feed of the fans in the stadium which then itself fell over.
Interesting decision to presumably play the next scheduled event (fade into a Radio 1 trailer) than a breakdown slide.
