I imagine it's intentional, if you showed the average man on the street the Paralympic emblem, they probably couldn't tell you what it was and no one could ever say that about the Olympic rings.
I think this is why Channel 4 have used the London 2012 Paralympic logo rather that the generic one like the BBC did the Olympics, for the 'Paralympic Broadcaster' branding.
A few days ago I saw the front page of The Mirror which uses the rings with '12 days to go to the Paralympics', which is at least going to effort of acknowledging it it unlike The Sun *I think*.
I think on the one hand it could be considered ignorant or disrespectful, on the other you could argue it's good for the Paralympics these publications are trying to get attention from as many people as possible by putting them on a par with the Olympics.
Having said all that, I did see one local newspaper article which called it the Para Olympics.

I still think you'd probably have no more than 50% awareness of the Paralympic symbol whereas it's 100% with the Olympic one. I'm not saying what they've done is right or wrong, just what I reckon the thinking behind it is.
Lots of the London 2012 banners here in Sheffield have been swapped for ones carrying the paralympic logos, and there's plenty of press about the big logos that are being installed around the country.

Is the C4 Paralympics Breakfast Show being produced by ITN?
If so, then I think this may be the set: which is to be used for Jon Snow's programme at 19:30 this evening. It has the obligatory (
) red semi-circular breakfast programme sofa!

Is that on the opposite side of the Channel 4 News studio?

I think that's the Barco screens on the co-presenter's side of the studio, with the rest of the set being at the back (opposite the atrium window): but that's just a guess.
That area seems quite versatile, and has become an interview area of late when discussing more in-depth issues.
Well find out at 19:30, no doubt.
EDIT:
Here are some screen grabs from another C4 programme last week which show the view of the studio from the atrium. It looks quite probable that it is that area.

Just had a scoot through the Channel 4 thread and this one and can't find any mention of the new Paralympic ident.
A canal scene. Narrow boats navigate a lock. A Paralympic athlete runs past and the camera pans round to reveal the Big Breakfast house and the Olympic Stadium. The '4' is really, really subtle. An excellent addition to the set, further sealing Channel 4 as the king of tv pres (as it has been for many years).

Here it is:
I did not realise the Big Breakfast House was that close to the stadium

AIUI C4 have taken over the CTV Canada space in the IBC.
They've put their own sets in (after seeing CTV's I didn't expect them to use their's), and have built their own gallery (as CTV, like many broadcasters these days, didn't have a full gallery in London and instead fibred back their cameras individually to a gallery in Canada...)
Interesting to see what people think when they see them.
