I hope so - would be a shame to see their commitment end here.
P.S. Notice too the C4 are also covering the Olympic/Paralympic victory parade on Monday 10th September with Jon Snow presenting, while Gary Lineker and Gabby Logan front the BBC coverage. C4 keeps hold of Claire Balding for the day too.

I think they'd bid for it but not sure they'd offer similar coverage- remember that the 2016 action will mainly be taking place overnight so won't be as attractive to advertisers. Maybe overnight single channel coverage with a primetime highlights show?
Interesting that during the Womens 5000m race C4 were cutting away from the OBS integrated feed quite a lot - using 4/5 of their own cameras to cover the track, often concetrating on Shelly Woods - whislt the international pictures showed the whole field or cut occasionally to the long jump competition.
C4 have seen sense now and dropped Come Dine with Me, The Simpsons and Hollyoaks from the schedule all week, so coverage only switches to More4 for the news at 7pm. Why they didn't schedule it like this in the first place god knows.
And I think ratings are solid enough to justify them bidding for Rio 2016 rights now - obviously they won't bid anywhere near £9m, but I think they've shown there is a demand there. I suspect though they might leave the Winter games to the BBC.
