I hope so - would be a shame to see their commitment end here.

P.S. Notice too the C4 are also covering the Olympic/Paralympic victory parade on Monday 10th September with Jon Snow presenting, while Gary Lineker and Gabby Logan front the BBC coverage. C4 keeps hold of Claire Balding for the day too.

I think they'd bid for it but not sure they'd offer similar coverage- remember that the 2016 action will mainly be taking place overnight so won't be as attractive to advertisers. Maybe overnight single channel coverage with a primetime highlights show?

A few days in and I can see C4 bidding for rights with similar coverage to London 2012 at Rio 2016 considering the viewing figures.

They certainly wont be paying 9m . I can't wait to see their coverage of the 2014 Winter Paralympic games.

London 2012 at Rio 2016 considering the viewing figures.

Barely above what the 2008 highlight shows were getting? Hardly amazing and stll below C4 projections to advertisers. Disappointing for a home games.

Sure to be a draw Very Happy

Interesting that during the Womens 5000m race C4 were cutting away from the OBS integrated feed quite a lot - using 4/5 of their own cameras to cover the track, often concetrating on Shelly Woods - whislt the international pictures showed the whole field or cut occasionally to the long jump competition.

Very NBC Wink

There was rowing from Eton Dorney shown earlier. It basically consisted of two stationary cameras positioned at the finish line. Very basic coverage.

But coverage nonetheless that C4 have had to fund. Wonder if they can "sell back" to OBS?

More likely they've got to give it to OBS / IPC for free if they want it- because it was filmed inside a venue.

C4 have seen sense now and dropped Come Dine with Me, The Simpsons and Hollyoaks from the schedule all week, so coverage only switches to More4 for the news at 7pm. Why they didn't schedule it like this in the first place god knows.

And I think ratings are solid enough to justify them bidding for Rio 2016 rights now - obviously they won't bid anywhere near £9m, but I think they've shown there is a demand there. I suspect though they might leave the Winter games to the BBC.

Arthur Williams beginning to look uncomfortable with Georgie Bingham's fluffs and stutters now..... Shame it's come to this.

So just like the Olympics it feels like everytime you turn it on during the day they're showing bloody dressage!
