....... and Gawd help us Rob Walker is doing the Athletics Commentary .... This could be fun.

He;s an experience athletics commentator and as well as doing the World Champs for C4 last year he has been working for the IAAF World feeds for six years and he's also commentated on most Paralympic athletic events since C4 won the rights.

He's known as 'Rob "Danny Dyer look-alike" Walker' here after he was struggling to avoid the advances of a (very drunk) woman in our after work pub during the snooker championships this year who was convinced he was "that there Danny Dyer off telly".

Quality comment from Clare Balding a little while ago too: "We're getting some tweets asking why we're not showing the rowing, well, it's mainly because it doesn't start til tomorrow" Smile

Only caught a glimpse but it looks to me like the gaffered diamond has been replaced with the correct shape.

Yep, it's been fixed. Surprised how quickly they managed to make a new part.

Makes you wonder how they could have got it wrong in the first place.

Quite common on the BBC with the regular knock off BBC One/BBC Two/BBC News logos that do the rounds on their TV outlets, why would Channel 4 want to be any different? Very Happy

My first thought was that Channel Four were trying to add a flame to there logo.

As nice as the C4 logo is it would have been more visually interesting surely to do something similar to the "Big 4" and the idents so it's in parts and only forms the logo when viewed from a certain angle. Talking of the ident anyone got a screencap of the 4 from the Paralympic ident - I can see where it's meant to be but it just doesn't look right.

Interesting situation with the rowing
Twitter @clarebalding1
Clarification - rowing heats today but there is no live coverage offered by host. C4 making packages for finals are on Sunday.

From @matthewPinsent
It would appear that there are no plans for live rowing coverage at the Paras. whilst sad it really isn't C4's choice. Its obvious so much of the TV infrastructure has come out of Eton. This cost saving on IPC/LOCOG say so. Zip wires & cams on boats aren't cheap. But I expect C4 to throw reporter resource at Dorney for sunday. Highlights/feature would be a minimum required in my book. No sign of them today. And to be completely fair there was no rowing in '08 from BBC either.

The reality is that the IPC can't go splashing jasquillions on coverage with a limited budget. Fancy cameras and live coverage are all £££, global tv rights only raised £19million which is why the lack of funds. Sad but reality.

Interesting that £9m of that £19m are from C4 ? That makes the UK the largest contributor to the Paralympic TV rights - unlike the Olympics where the UK is relatively low-key compared to NBC ?

Obviously there is a lot less money knocking around for the host broadcast coverage - it's simpler, has fewer bells and whistles, but it is being done pretty well still

(NBC are only showing 90 minutes of highlights a week after the event has finished on their main network, with 4 x 60 minute highlight shows on NBC Sports - a minor cable/satellite channel, and some YouTube stuff AIUI. Not going down well with US Disability groups - and since a significant number of competitors are US service personnel who were disabled in Iraq or Afghanistan, it's not going down well with US Veterans' groups either)

Yes C4 is the NBC of the Paralympics. Very Happy
It'll be interesting to see how much C4 will bid for the 2016 Paralympics. Despite all the sponsorship, they're projecting that they'll just break even on it and that's with a home games!
