You seem willing and eager to use an apostrophe: but not know what it's purpose! Crying or Very sad

Is it just me or have they just stuck black card on the Channel 4 Logo's in the Studios to make the top diamond the correct shape. IMO it just looks messy and all though it is the wrong logo it looks better without the card.

No, it was pointed out last night.

It seems the extra channels use different commentary to Channel 4, on things like Swimming and Cycling, can't imagine it would be the case for team sports such as basketball.

It's product placement for the tape, being used on the Channel 4 logo.

The lighting has changed on the Channel 4 sign, to use different colours like the logo variation they're using on Paralympics material.

Image from TV Newsroom.

Previously it was just one colour.

EDIT: changed image to link because of its size.

EDIT 2: here's a screenshot of it I've uploaded to Twitter. http://pic.twitter.com/oUNzOyuF

This programme with Clare and Ade seems much smoother and much more professional than the previous two presenters.

Anyone else feeling 'distant' from the games with this coverage? The lack of apparent proximity of the studio teams to the Games itself is an underlying issue for me.

Yes, it's like when BBC or ITV do a football match from the UK, usually for matches that are a bit insignificant or are being held millions of miles away, this is the sort of feeling Channel 4's studio is generating, should definally have had a real window view.

The first HD opt out is happening at 6:30 by the way, will be interesting to see how they handle it

Pleased that they are using the OBS graphics as the opening ceremony ones left a lot to be desired. I don't know if they were oversized to cater for those with impaired sight perhaps?

Look carefully and you'll notice that the tech available is less than used at the Olympics. The lack of lots of underwater and overhead shots at the Aquatics Centre show this. You'll also notice the lack of superimposed lane graphics etc. The captions also don't have the subtle animation that the Olympic ones used either.

Nevertheless, they seem to be doing a pretty good job for what they need to show. Mind you, someone has managed to keep that annoying 'thump' when the replay logo flashes across!

I guess they had two options:

1) use the IBC, and deal with the lack of a window

2) build something temporary like the BBC did.

The issue with that second idea is I very much doubt that the studio on top of shipping crates idea would be very accessible for the considerable number of guest with limited mobility who are likely to contribute. If you're going to build a studio at ground level the view will be so poor you might as well not bother and go with the IBC.
