Moyles' commentary is good so far:
"Good move from number 7....whoever he is..."
"Vuvuzelas sound like Adrian Chiles...."
and they have jingles.

Seems like quite a few complaints were made!
Quote:
ITV has confirmed that around 5,000 people have complained about a transmission error which caused ITV1 HD viewers to miss England's first goal at the World Cup.
On Saturday, 1.5m viewers were left outraged when ITV1 HD switched to a Hyundai advert and then a blank screen just as Steven Gerrard scored in the fourth minute against the USA.
The broadcaster has blamed transmission company Technicolor for the problem, which was caused by "human error" in the firm's London studio.
On Sunday, ITV's group technology director Richard Cross indicated that the broadcaster had met with Technicolor "to put in place measures to address the issue".
However, around 5,000 people have complained directly to ITV about the incident. It's unclear at this stage how many have also submitted their objections to Ofcom.
In February 2009, ITV received 1,000 complaints after a transmission glitch caused its live coverage of Everton's FA Cup game against Liverpool to switch to an advert just as Dan Gosling scored the winning goal.

Suspect they are downlinked at TVC Sat Ops and passed through CCA to Broadcast Centre if they are coming back via satellite. Suspect similarly if fibre.
AIUI it is VERY unusual for anything live on the BBC (in London) to go directly to the Broadcast Centre and NOT go via CCA at TV Centre (apart from News stuff that might come via SCAR).
In previous World Cups, ITV's feeds have also been downlinked via TV Centre, not sure about this year's.

Bit of a technical question - how are feeds from the OB in South Africa getting back to the UK for BBC/ITV etc?
Does TVC play a part in the broadcast chain for the BBC?
Apologies in advance if the answers seem obvious!

More details coming through. Basically a block of tickets allocated to ITV and subsequently provided to pundit Robbie Earle ended up in the hands of a marketing ambush agency for the purpose of advertising a Dutch brewery company.
Another embarrassment for ITV. It's turing into a PR disaster for them.

Obviously we don't know the full story, but if FIFA made more tickets available to fans in the first place they wouldn't be in this position. Seems though FIFA gifted tickets to ITV who gifted tickets to employee who didn't want/need them himself so sold them on!
