And we're underway on BBC TWO.

Interestingly, I had the subtitles on and as soon as the test card popped up, up came the blue/yellow 888 in the top right

A bit more unpleasant to look at compared to how my BBC1 looked when re-broadcast. There's a lot of grain noise here, and although it can't be shown in a still image, I'm getting faint vertical 'bars' of noise moving across the picture - would be a bit distracting during normal viewing.

My signal comes from Caradon Hill and we hade some really rough weather here last night which i thinks disrupted the signal more than normal - Some Horrible distortion and Ghosting going on:

*Apologies about lack of HQ Phots - These were taken on me Mobile Phone

Ad i missed the Start-up of BBC 2 and the test on BBC 1 so if anybody have any reception reports from the SW Area i'd like to see them Smile

Bugger. I'm in Granada so this would be the last time I'd be able to see it. Low and behold, I forgot to set record...

Can somebody make an mpg2 recording of BBC2's closedown please?

Even within the context of this thread, what on earth will be so unmissable about BBC2's closedown ?!

Probably the announcement from the C/A, as when this does occur they usually say they are Closing down for such a time,

In the end, the programme on BBC2 was longer (probably 2 eps back to back) and I recorded the wrong channel at 2.20 which meant I got the BBC2 close but not the BBC1 close Embarassed

Is that talking clock over the test card computerised or is it an actual woman reading the time?

I love that Ceefax logo, takes me back to my youth! This particular Ceefax logo was last used officially way back in 1989/90.

Yes its an actual woman reading the time, if you listen for about 30 minutes, you can hear her say "milk and two sugars please"

It's her biggest gig of the year, she's gutted about DSO.
