2007 University Boat Race

I just saw a boat-related break bumper on ITV1- has the presentation started for the University Boat Race already, even though it's not until 7th April, or was that just a normal ITV1 break bumper that I've never noticed before?

Has Steve Rider taken over this as well now he's forced Gabby Logan out of ITV?

I think you'll find it's the 'Boat' breakbumper, it's a normal one used by ITV1, with matching ident.

I expect they would want him to only it's Malaysian Grand Prix weekend as well.

Mayb ol' Jim "R" will cover the boat race of the GP?

It's worse than we could have ever expected - according to our local paper tonight Mark Durden Smith will be anchoring coverage of this year's boat race!

Although he does actually have a background in sports broadcasting, he presented Sky Sports Centre and Sky's rugby coverage for a while.

Could have so easily sent Jim Rosenthal or Angus Scott out to Malaysia for the Grand Prix - Scott covered a Grand Prix last summer while Rider and Rosenthal were at the World Cup.

Steve Rider has a long association with the Boat Race, covering it for 15+ years on the BBC. Just seems the natural choice.

I think I would have even preferred Barry McGuigan to present the boat race
