What actually matters these days?

The actual original showing or do they add up all the showings on subsidary channels, plus the video taping as well?

We've watched EE, Who & SCD, while SKY + ing ITV.

Should theoritcally only BBC 1 count, or ITV also count as we've SKY + it?

(We've got no BARB box, so I don't expect this to matter personally, just wondered generally!)

Overnights is just who watched it. The actuals released about 3 weeks later include the people who recorded them

Notice The Queen was an ITN production this year. I was wondering how those wild ITN endcaps would look. They used a static version rather than the usual animated one

Dawn French's sitcom The Vicar of Dibley scored the highest ratings of any TV programme in the UK on Christmas Day, according to overnight estimates.

The BBC One show was seen by 11.4m viewers, compared to 10.7m for the last episode of an East Enders double bill.

Coronation Street was third, followed by the first half of East Enders.

The BBC's Doctor Who, Little Britain Abroad and Strictly Come Dancing were next, with ITV1's main drama of the night - Doc Martin - ninth on 5.3m.

The BBC report has changed, and now says that Doc Martin wasn't in the top ten.

The Vicar of Dibley becomes one of the highest rated programmes of the year.

It was definally a win for terrestrial tv, add up some of those shares and you'll see that hardly anybody chose multichannel tv on Christmas Day

Over on Five and only one programme managed over 1 million viewers

In daytime, ITV scheduling Christmas Cooks was quite good as it managed to win the slot

They are counting the Strictly Come Dancing preview as a seperate programme which is questionable, it was actually only on for less than 10 minutes

"Clutching" and "straws" are the words which spring to mind.
