Why are BBC One bothering with this programme on Saturday ? Firstly we've moved on a month since 2003, and secondly, both C4 & ITV have already done similar shows.

When the commercial opposition have already done this twice over, it's not really distinctive and alternative enough for value for money for the licence fee payer is it ?

I was thinking the same. Who cares about 2003 anymore, its at least a month too late, shouldn't it have been on on the 31st December not the 31st January!.

It'll probably be full of clips of EastEnders and Fame Academy anyway, although a corrie clip features in the trailer...!

Whereas they could replace it with a 'Best TV moments of January 2004' and show endless discussion, speculation and interviews around Hutton/BBC chairman resigning / Greg Dyke leaving.

Oh no, that's the entire output of the news channels for the last 2 days. Very Happy

I'll just be glad when TV channels stop copying each other and start making original programming again.

Isn't it Richard Hillman in this programme? I can't see them showing one of the numerous triangles Kieran Roberts inflicted on us somehow.

Well since Greg's departure last nights Newsnight said that there would be some big changes in programming, with less stuff aimed to compete with ITV and C4 (Fame Academy etc) and more original programming, so this could be the last "Clip Show" and Pop Idol rip... possibly for the better.

How can they possibly know that? The acting DG had only been in place for a few hours at that point. I doubt he would be making that sort of decision at that speed.
My guess is that this is more speculation than fact and that programming will stay pretty much in the current mould until the new permanent DG has been in place for a month or two.
