I posted this online a little while back now over in the website forum, but the BBC Ceefax service as was being broadcast during the morning of Diana's Funeral can be found here.

It's a weird situation where all sorts of random pages are suspended as a mark of respect, mirroring some of what happened with the channels themselves at the time.
I also still have my VHS recording of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe from that same day, recorded from the alternative Channel 4 schedule being put out then.

To be fair, I imagine plenty of adults didn't want to watch the funeral either. Should we have forced mourning? We're not North Korea.
It's not as if people who did want to watch it didn't have a choice, it was on the other 4 channels (which even in my opinion was overkill- surely only BBC1 and ITV needed to show it)). A bit ridiculous to have a go at channel 4.
If Channel 4 did get criticism for their children's schedule it was most definitely undeserved. Kids would've wanted something to watch on a Saturday morning, and they most likely didn't want to watch a coffin or crowds of people crying. And the tone of the continuity was pretty spot on for the mood of the day.

The nascent BBC News Online put together a tribute site - which is still online: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/special/politics97/diana/

I predict Netflix and other streaming services will do very brisk business when the Queen goes.

I'll certainly be turning to them if every channel goes into full on mourning mode for days on end. I can imagine there'll still be some quarters (i.e the daily mail) who'll be outraged at anyone who isn't in the streets weeping like Pyongyang when Kim Jong-il died.

Thanks for posting that, 623058.
I had completely forgotten that Channel 5 covered the funeral as does it seem BBC2.
God, looking at that page is like walking straight back into my early 20s. Channel 3 North East is on there, the OU showing programmes on BBC2 in the morning, cricket on the BBC, and a program on ITV examining what was going to be the referendums that brought the nation the Scottish Parliament and the Welsh Assembly.

There's enough channels around now that there'll be plenty of things to watch.
Things might be slightly subdued in places and there might be the odd schedule change here and there but TV isn't going to be wall to wall classical music and footage of the Queen for weeks. TV doesn't work like that any more

That showing of Wallace & Gromit was dropped it would seem.
The ITV schedule was also slightly different to that printed above:

Wasn't there a static caption during breaks on Sky1 with a picture of Diana?
