immediately, you appear to have been infected with Tumbletowertitis.

What on Earth, in the world, is Tumbletowertitis ? Since when has it existed? Is it just something you've made up?

It's a bit like a comment made by Neil Jones back in April:

Neil Jones posted:
This is quite possibly the first case of "BoogieBeebieitis" anybody has seen.

What on Earth, in the world, is BoogieBeebieitis ? Again, that has never (to the best of my knowledge) existed. Did Neil Jones make that up?

What sense is there in making up conditions that don't exist?

I know I'm feeding the troll here but I hate it when you call me that on a forum. If you're going to refer to me by name, please just call me by my first name. By speaking in a fashion of "did Neil Jones make that up?", you really do sound totally moronic. It might have escaped your attention but I don't use a handle on here and everybody else is intelligent to work this out on their own if they use my name in a response so why can't you?

With regards to BoogieBeebieitis, then quite clearly sarcasm is wasted on you and the original joke was over your head, in fact four months in and it still hasn't hit home. Seriously, if you have to ponder over a) something I said ages ago and b) whether it was a joke or not, you must be suffering from something.

(expects now to have to define to Tumble Tower exactly what a handle is in regards to a web forum)

OK let's get this thread back on track.

10 years ago today: Sunday 31 August 1997 was the death of Diana, Princess of Wales. There's been no escaping that today, we've constantly been reminded of it.

But wind back 20 years, what can I say? The date: Monday 31 August 1987 . I've just checked out Wikipedia, there was nothing significant to have stood the test of time.

There is one memorable event for ME that day though. Monday 31 August 1987 was the August Bank Holiday for that year (UK except Scotland). I was 15 (about a month short of my 16th birthday to be precise). That day I went with my family to Weston-super-Mare. We spent an hour or so in the town centre to start with, then around midday went into Tropicana - a leisure centre on the sea front. That was my first ever visit to Tropicana, and thoroughly enjoyed the Surf Pool (an open air swimming pool with wave machine) and the two green water slides. Well at least I swam in the pool and had umpteen goes on the two water slides, the rest of my family simply sat in deck and watched me. We stayed in until around 5pm and then went home. Altogther that was a mega fun afternoon at Tropicana, Weston-super-Mare, and for me turned out to be my highlight of 1987.

For your information, Tropicana closed down in September 2000. The site was to be redeveloped with a glazed roof, so presumably the pool could then be used all year round. Come March 2002, I saw a report on Points West saying nothing had been done, the only beneficiaries of the Surf Pool were some ducks swimming on it. I was surprised the pool hadn't been drained prior to disuse. I've not heard any more on the matter since. Does anyone from Weston-super-Mare know what's happened to that building on the sea front in the last five years?

And apart from a little mention of Points West, THAT my friend has absolutely NOTHING to do with television.

Hmm, are you saying that Tumble Tower's post was slightly more on-topic than yours?

it has more to do with it than your recent additions to the forum, which entirely consist of being tumble tower's PR man.

Well other people call me "Tumble Tower" in full, so why can't I call you Neil Jones? Is that your real name? Tumble Tower is NOT my real name, I chose a nickname for this forum.

In what way is sarcasm being wasted on me? What point were you trying to make by saying "This is quite possibly the first case of "BoogieBeebieitis" anybody has seen."?

It wasn't a dig. I was just agreeing that Tumble Tower's post had a VERY tenuous link to television. On the other hand, our posts have nothing to do with television.
