The EBU, BBC & BBC One are in coproduction on the Eurovision Dance Contest.

Based on the success of Strictly Come Dancing in over 25 countries and using the ESC format, the show will take place in London on 1st Sept '07

The contest will feature Professional Dancers from 12 countries. As well as the BBC, I know that Russia will also be participating.

What have we done to deserve this?

Yes! Someone else has noticed something I've "reported"! I went crazy and made that Wiki page as I really wanted to try Wikipedia and I thought it would be perfect if I could start something that would generally get extended and extended and extended! I'm great! I'm really great! Rolling Eyes Very Happy

Seriously though! I think it should be enjoyable enough, whether or not other countries will be seriously interested in taking part in future contests remains to be seen.

I'm looking foward to seeing Morrissey break-dance for the UK.

Considering how successful the BBC has made Strictly, I believe they will make the first two years of this production a) an entertainment spectacular & b) a production with high standards that other broadcasters will find hard to follow.

Can Brucie speak French - and will Mr Wogan be involved?

What's the odds it's Graham Norton presenting!

I also noticed from the EBU site that JSF (Jeux Sans Frontier) is back this year. Are any of our Broadcasters taking part in it, or is the UK missing out on the nostalgia/fun of this show?

Oh dear. This'll kill off the dancing phenomenom.

JSF hasn't been shown in the UK for donkey's years. Do RTÉ take it? When was the last time the BBC transmitted it?
