"Maybe it you clooks" is another famous 623058 quote. It's so popular that IIRC Hyma uses it in his sig.
Anyway, in an attempt to get this thread back on topic, it would be interesting if the old BBC1 and BBC2 idents were somehow adapted for BBC4. Perhaps they could use the split-screen theme to show different parts of the ident playing in each corner of the screen.

Surprised no-one had thought of that - what a fab idea!

Sorry to be so dreadfully off-topic, but what did he mean by "maybe it you clooks"

Type 'maybe it you clooks' into Google and this Metropol thread appears.

This should explain everything.

Like this? This is also how I would like to see the BBC Four idents changed to remove the box.

Well, we can speculate, and dream, can't we?
(And by the way, 623058, I've got mine, see my sig.)

I think the idea here is because BBC Four is doing a '1997 week', but the channel wasn't around at that time.
So in place of the usual idents, would be ones from the main BBC channels that were introduced in, yes, 1997. Paint Pot on 2 was one of those, hence why it's been used as an example. Over on BBC1, 1997 was the year of the famous Balloon's debut too.
I doubt it will actually be done, but it's a nice idea.

Why would BBC4 use BBC2 idents?
