It hasnt been updated sinc 1998- worse than the Meldrum Home Page! Does anyone know if Darren Meldrum has any plans to update his site in the forseeable future? Its a good site and its a shame its not being updated.
Very interesting - Yesterday, I found an old BBC1 ident on the end of one of my videotapes yesterday. It's a skyscraper-ish 1 that's got a lift in it. Anyone know the one I'm talking about? I think it's circa mid-nineties.
Yeah that's right. In fact I think the only regional station to make their own trailers before 1993 was TSW, but then they always were big spenders on continuity. Grampian, Channel, Border, UTV and Tyne Tees all took the ITV ones. Back then it was more labour-intensive to make their own trailers, so they just took the ITV ones. So did Yorkshire. Occasionally they'd make their own, or put their own branding over the top of a standard ITV trailer (or in the case of Tyne Tees broadcast a completely unbranded trailer and put out the graphics and voice-overs live to fit in with rundown menus etc) but in the main the standard ITV trailers were used.
It's interesting to note that on the Tyne Tees version, they had their logo on a orange background, while the rest of the regions either used grey or blue.
