Do these repeats include any regional inserts? I haven't seen one before ...

NO Regional stuff, just the fill from London.

However last time the 1979 election was shown, they did include the edition of Nationwide shown at 6am. Hopefully they will do the same again Very Happy

'Secret Society' on the Zircon satelite anyone ?

On the subject of regional inserts, would the regions have kept their inserts from the various election progs for the archive, or not?

In fact, what do the regions 'save' from their regional news progs anyway?

Just the reports, or would certain shows be kept because of a major interview transmitted?

What is the the regional news archiving policy on both channels any way?

I'd be certain that it would be everything from the News that they would save, BBC North West have shown archived presenting clips on NWT.

As for ITV, I have no idea, I have seen archive reports, but never archived presenting.

Don't say that to anyone here! Everyone blame thatcher and the tories for all the pits closing down (there used to be around 25 round here, now there's only 2).

It's worth thinking that election night programmes like this will probabally become a thing of the past. Voting with computers can't be far off, and when that happens, we'll have results instnatally.

Much as I'd like to blame her, Thatcher wasn't responsible for the fact that it became much cheaper to import foreign coal rather than mine our own. The UK coal industry was *always* going to wither away, no matter who was in power.

Knowing that doesn't make life any easier for the communities that depended on mining, of course.
