BBC Scotland used to opt out to show Gaelic programme " Prosbaig " on BBC Two in the early 80s. They used a static end board type slide with the ==2== on it and the word " SCOTLAND " in white above.

Something a bit like this pic from TV Ark?

I think Tony Currie has said that in those days BBC Scotland only had one continuity suite so if they were opting out on both network BBC2's opt had to be handled by a studio gallery which was less flexible, so they used slides like that rather than the proper idents.

I never saw that BBC 2 South ident as anything other than a static, rather grubby 35mm slide.

It wouldn't have been economic to have produced bespoke generators for the regions, but what about the nations ?

BBC Scotland's ==2== slide was static and grubby too. I may be wrong but my memory is still telling me the " SCOTLAND " was above it. Could just be my age Smile

Found this

There is a BBC2 continuity announcer, and quite rare to see Play Away from 1974 ( the end of the show also on You Tube ). It has been uploaded by one of the band.
