Well correct me if I'm wrong but weren't the lot of them ex-gameshow hosts ? Why single out Nick Weir ?

Yeah, my mistake, but I'm slightly confused as to the use of the word 'pillock'

Back to the show and I've just thought about two massive flaws in the format.

1 - It is impossible to win the £7,500 top amount, unless you have the reflexes and split second timing of Superman/woman. Infact I'd go as far to say it is impossible to win more than £6,500.

2- You could have an unfair situation where 3 contestants have 16-18 keys eliminated from their screens, and 1 who has none.
As soon as the money clock turns red, (s)he then takes a wild chance presses the button on to of their podium and guesses the right key, opens the locker and stops the clock and takes the money.
Hardly fair on the other 3 who have spent all show answering questions correctly, only for some plank to scoop the lot without really doing anything, is it?

1) Yep, fair enough. Beadle could well have managed it yesterday though. Two people this week have nailed more than £6,800 in fairness.

2) Ah, but this for me is the beauty of the show. Paul Daniels did exactly this the other day and gives the show an exciting anarchic feeling where anything could happen and frequently doesn't, with the odds given.

I actually really like it. Technically it's not *quite* there but I find it a lot of fun to watch and Bacon's muddling-through-it hosting style is quite entertaining. Certainly something different to watch if i'm in on an evening in the next six weeks.

Did anybody see last night's edition of 19 Keys newsreaders? I have to say i think it was great seeing the old faces of TV News *not meaning to insult those who like me remember them well. Embarassed I missed the end and didn't see who won? If it was Rob "i wear make-up" Butler, i would say it was a conspiracy from Five!

Nope, Rob did not win it because he decided to press the red button when he had 2 "keys" left and ended up choosing the wrong one! Nick Owen decided to just go for it nearly straight after Rob's failure, and ironically his "lucky number" (13) opened the safe.

I still don't understand this Lucky 7 format, surely it should be limited so you only get it if you land directly on 7?! Shocked
