I am interested to know where people were at 1:45pm this afternoon when the first plane hit the World Trade Center tower.

Please post here, in this topic.

(I was doing some filing @ work when it happened.)

Well I was on my lunch at that time, and exactly at 1345, I thought to myself that something was wrong! Please don't ask me why, I kept looking at the clock thinking that I was something was not right, and then we heard all the reports.

Well I was watching the 'Biggest Game in Town' and hopping across to see the Look North Banter.

Just like any other normal day, and then Crossroads started....but never actually finished

I was watching John Terrett on News 24 with the lunchtime business programme, when at about 1.50 they crossed to pictures from the building (after everyone else it has to be said, though the BBC's coverage in the first 90 minutes or so was excellent).

I was in the 6th form common room with my friends chatting to people. I first heard about this at about 3:10 when a guy in my economics class said after his free period (he'd been in the library and i assume they put the TV on) and he was telling us all and most of us thought he was taking the mick. Then I went on the bus home and I heard people talking about it and most people here in London (and I include myself) are fearful that as America's closest ally we'll be next on the list. Then I got home and my mum and sister were standing by the kitchen TV still with their bags on their shoulders and I just had time to say 'Have you heard the rumours...' and my mum said 'they're not rumours.'

I guess it was around 8.45 am over here -- i was in my wonderful high school Biology class -- I didn't find out about that whole thing until around 10.00 or 11.00 - fourth period, when i was in Math…

It's all so horrible…thank god I live on Long Island

I was at school in My Business Studies class. Some one told me at beak 2:20 pm and I thought they were winding me up!! Then on the way home with my mates I stopped at an ice cream van and heard some more of what was going on. THEN I heard it again in a newsagents and decided to get home as quick as possible.

This has truely been, one black day.

Likewise (apart from the Look North bit). After that it was Sky News, with a bit of hopping to BBC, ITN and CNN
