what about his other TV work?

Peter Kay?

'That Peter Kay Thing' was good. Pheonix Nights was excellent but was co-written by Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice, both of whom he fell out with. Max and Paddy was awful which just went to show how much he needed spikey/Fitzmaurice.

I don't want to jump on any 'I Love Peter Kay' bandwagon here but why and when did he fall out with Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice?

Peter has admitted himself that he found the Bungalow tour stressful and since that has decided not to do standup again - sticking to TV work instead.

I read on t'interweb, so don't know if it's true or not, but they fell out when Pheonix Nights won a BAFTA and Peter Kay's speech didn't recgonise the other two.

apart from TV burp, which is great I was surprised he was so high up

Possibly due to his recent series, also probably the cleanest comedian of the list, perhaps that's why?

What about Ken Dodd-- he's clean? Can't believe KD was beaten by Johnny Vegas though Laughing

I notice a few of Channel 4's regular turns were featured high up, co-incidence I'm sure Wink

But Ken Dodd is not funny IMHO but some do find him funny

Peter Kay night (again) on Sunday - that live gig again, behind the scenes of the Bungalow tour and the Phoenix Nights outtakes.

But that could be said about everyone in the list, not everyone finds everyone funny.

The thing about Ken Dodd is that he is quite old fashioned and hasn't had much TV exposure in recent years. Also as mentioned in the programme, his shows go on for far too long - often 5 hours or more. Doesn't matter how funny you are you've got to know when to get off

Juse been watching this ... the other difficulty, apart from 4 hours being a lot in one sitting, is that, with the 8pm start, the first hour was riddled with bleeps, and when the material is so reliant on swearing, the message got rather lost in the translation.

The solution? Extend it to 5 or 6 hours over two nights, or cut out more of the rent-a-quotes and do it in just over 3. EIther way, make it a 9pm start time.

I think the best way is two shows over two nights, each two hours long, with the first counting down from 100-41, and the second being the top 40.

Yes it was called sarcasm. However they did win the 100 greatest kids' shows, 100 greatest cartoons, 100 greatest tv characters. Smile
