Thanks for the list, can't believe the Davidson beat the likes of Hurst, Merton & Tommy Cooper. However two of my faves, Harry Hill & Richard Pryor are in the top 5

What about Ken Dodd-- he's clean? Can't believe KD was beaten by Johnny Vegas though

Peter Kay?
'That Peter Kay Thing' was good. Pheonix Nights was excellent but was co-written by Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice, both of whom he fell out with. Max and Paddy was awful which just went to show how much he needed spikey/Fitzmaurice.
I don't want to jump on any 'I Love Peter Kay' bandwagon here but why and when did he fall out with Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice?
Peter has admitted himself that he found the Bungalow tour stressful and since that has decided not to do standup again - sticking to TV work instead.
