Some surprises in this - Peter Kay knocked down by Billy Connolly, Chubby Brown was in there, and I was upset to see Alan Carr so low in the countdown. He's hilarious!
I am. Just with him only being on video releases and along with his blue humour, I was surprised to see him on the countdown, with alot of his material prohibited from telly.
Then again, I still thought that even though Bernard Manning kept popping up...
Peter Kay has only done 2 tours, and he has already started repeating the odd gag (What's wrong with your voice mum, you're not even irish!) And I don't really like Billy Conolly. I can't understand his accent, and I'm not happy with him after his rather unkind remarks about Ken Bigley.
He came across really badly on the programme last night, his rant against Jo Brand showed what a nasty piece of work he is. In the same way that Bernard Manning said he doesn't care about criticism because he's still raking in the cash, Jim is off the telly, bankrupt and getting booed off stage when Jo Brand is still doing lots of work
When other older generation comedians such as Barry Cryer, Bob Monkhouse and to a lesser extent, Mike Reid are genuinely embracing current day comedians.... people like Davidson seem very bitter

He's started repeating
every
gag! I can see him being the next Chris Evans - desperately trying to cling onto 2002 forever.
'That Peter Kay Thing' was good. Pheonix Nights was excellent but was co-written by Dave Spikey and Neil Fitzmaurice, both of whom he fell out with. Max and Paddy was awful which just went to show how much he needed spikey/Fitzmaurice.
