Russell's back, but will he behave?
Russell Brand is back! He’s presenting a brand new Sunday night entertainment show - 1 Leicester Square. It starts Sunday 2 April at 8pm.

You may remember Russell as MTV's wayward prodigal son from several years ago when he was literally kicked off-air due to his, shall we say, excessive actions.

To watch a clip of Russell in full rude flow, click on the link above. Warning! It's uncensored!

We’ve lined up a sensational guest roll call for its first outing with two of the UK's top bands among those dropping into the hottest new showbiz venue. Chart superstars The Streets will be popping in to showcase hot new material from their forthcoming album and The Stereophonics will also join Russell for a candid and revealing interview in 1 Leicester Square's swanky new bar area - setting the standard for what’s guaranteed to be an unstoppable show.

Teaming up with Russell is another MTV favourite, comedienne Karen Hayley – but is she going to keep Russell on the straight and narrow or lead him even further astray? Russell says he’s reformed, but he could still throw up the unpredictable – after all this is the man who once ordered 5 star room service, at MTV’s expense, for his pet snails!

Help your weekend go out with a bang with 1 Leicester Square's exclusive interviews with A-list stars, comedy sketches and great music performances.

1 Leicester Square will become the hottest venue in town with a VIP bar packed with the hottest stars and for your access all areas ticket to an electrifying show, you just have to sit there.

1 Leicester Square premieres on MTV UK every Sunday at 8pm starting 2 April, so make sure you check out the schedules.

How can it possibly be TRL's replacement? How can something replace something else that isn't even on the same day let alone the same time? Rolling Eyes

I'm looking forward to it though. It Sounds like everything 'OFI Sunday' should have been - . Chris Evans should watch and weep. That's assuming it's any good of course. With Russel Brand at the helm though I'm sure it will be. OK he's an acquired taste. But IMO he is a bigger better personality then 99% of the bland androids on the main 4 channels.

One thing I find funny about the Leicester Square studio is that if you pass it when they're not filming, you can't tell MTV have anything to do with it. The windows are shut off, so you can't see inside and the bottom floor is totally empty- it looks like a derelict shop unit.

That's nothing - there's a TV studio on the fourth floor of Whiteley's Shopping Centre in Queensway, London (just to the north of Kensington Gardens/Hyde Park).

You wouldn't know it unless you were actually going to a show being recorded there.

I was in the audience for something called "The Deadly Knowledge Show" with Dave Berry - I don't know what channel it was on, I don't recall seeing it in any listings or seeing any promos. And it wasn't anything particularly special anyway. Bit of a waste of an afternoon, if you want my honest opinion - but interesting as I'd been shopping in the centre quite a number of times, so it was bit like walking through the wardrobe to Narnia. The show was produced by Princess Productions - whether the studio belongs to them or they just rented it, I do not know.

I think most TV studios these days don't actually look like TV studios - Fountain in Wembley, from the photos I have seen, looks like an office block for a multinational cardboard box manufacturing company, and there is some studio centre in Chiswick, the name of which escapes me, but is the base for Transworld Sport, and is at the end of a residential road 20 minutes' walk from Turnham Green tube station. Me and my gf were miffed when we travelled from one side of London to the other to get to this place, got there 30mins early and got turned away because the studio was full (only those who were in the café an hour early got in).

I believe it was aired on Channel 4 at 9.30am as part of some sort of 4 Learning remit.

Isn't The Wright Stuff made there as well?

Are you sure you've not confused 'personality' with 'waving ones hands around un-necessarily all the time'?

Yep, and owned by Princess Productions.
