has a 'cult' pairing with one of the presenters from one of the regions he does?

Then dump him into that region alone, at the proper time, and leave a real forecaster, rather than a cheap comedian to do the weather for the other region.

I would have thought that a person who has a First Class Honours Degree in Planetary Physics, who has worked at the Met Office as an International Forecaster, who has provided weather forecasts for plenty of multinational companies etc. would be well qualified to be called a real forecaster, and a forecaster with a lively and down-to-earth personality and immense regional popularity to boot.

i don’t think you are taking this seriously enough katherine

Helen's family is down in London and she used to travel from Hull to London each weekend - she is now with her family in London for the time being. As I say, would be very surprised if she didn't pop up on BBC London.

Well it appears that Calendar has won ITV Regional News Programme of the Year at the ITV News Group Awards.

That's the trouble, you see, Alf; it's another 16 pence for the pictures!

You have to wonder why there is no sport coverage to be seen on Look North Hull.

With 4 football teams in the region, 2 of which are pushing for promotion from their respective leagues, and a thriving rugby scene in it's main city I find this very odd.

Isn't it kind of customary to have some kind of round-up of the weekend sport on a Monday ?

I guess they're too busy profiling has-been comedy double acts like Cannon and Ball, who were in Leeds, so I take it they were a shared guest with the Emley lot ?

At least there is consistency at the weekend, this seems to be Jason McCartney's permanent home.

Until you mentioned it, this weekend there was Paul Burland on Saturday and Frazer Maude on Sunday.

Rachel Philips presented Calendar's GMTV bulletins this morning

John Shires seems to have gone awol as well, with Christine doing the sport tonight

That is so wrong it is laughable! I'd love to know your source for that assumption.

Yes, but given this was an ITV-only awards thing, it's not exactly a big victory given only half the opposition was eligible...... it is a bit like competing in a 'best ****' competition.....

That's odd - the word I used wasn't four letters long, it was 7 letters....

It must have only just been added to the swear filter, as it was there in full just now.

Really, I ask you - is s.crotum an offensive word?!

It's mentioned in Gray's Anatomy, more than once - it's a perfectly acceptable name for a part of the body. What part will they ban next? Spleen?
