Well actually the first glimpse was this morning during Breakfast. And I must admit, I nearly choked on my coffee. I thought it was a joke that Clare Frisby was on maternity leave. She must be well into her fifties. She looked really old even when she first joined Look North in 1995. Women giving birth at that age frightens me.

I think Clare's roughly the same age as Helen Fospero; late thirties....

Is Helen really in her late 30's?!

And the thought of Clare Frisby being in her 50's? That would make her older than Peter Levy. Impossible! Razz

Edit: Welcome to page 100.... yee-hah!

Yeah, she's 38(ish - not sure she's had that birthday yet!)... She sure doesn't look it, or act it. I only found out a couple of weeks before she left when I said something to her about not being much older than me (I'm late 20s). She thought that was hysterical!
Seeing her lounging about in her jeans she looks much younger than she does when she reads news in her smart suits, and I don't think she even looks that age then! Guess some people age better than others.

Looks like the love-child of Joanna Lumley and Michael Schumacher!

It's apparantly Rachel Philips.

Earlier on in the week you could tell how short staffed they were, the last resort (presenting wise) put in an appearance:

Hi, just a quick question I was wondering about. Do Calendar have a separate programme for each sub region (like Central does) or do you just go to your sub region for an update during the main programme? Also how many sub regions are there?

There's three, East (Belmont transmitter covering East Yorkshire and Lincolnshire), South (Sheffield Relay covering parts of Sheffield and Chesterfield) and News (Emley Moor for everywhere else).
Seperate bulletins at 10.55am and 3.00pm
Sub opts where the main one stays and the other two go off on their own for about 3 minutes at Lunchtime, often good to see how obvious the opt in and out points are if you are watching the main edition
and then three seperate opts during the main programme

Most people think this is for the best as if there were seperate programmes there wouldn't be enough news to go round Wink

Would these be the same people who have rigid ideals of what a regional news programme's content should be like, with no room allowed for innovation?

Having said that, Peter does have a tendency to come out with out-dated phrases. Only a few years ago on Radio Leeds I heard him say they were on 'FM Stereo'. Wow!

I heard Martin Kelner refer to it as VHF when trailling a frequency split not all that long ago
