No - it was the same with Christa Ackroyd when she left Calendar. She didn't get an on-air goodbye either

Because she defected to the other side. Doesn't explain why Helen never got the chance for an on-screen godbye ?

Maybe because they couldn't get God and Helen into the studio together owing to size constraints? Check your spelling.... Wink

*GOES GREEN, PALE AND HEARS THE SOUND OF SICKBAGS BEING BOUGHT*

Isn't Linda on telly enough these days? She has one of THE whiniest, most annoying voices on the bloody Goggle-box!

Help me, I need a nurse......

I was chatting to Helen F on Tuesday and there was no indication of her leaving. She was very stressed out which is unusual she's one of the most naturally smiley people I've ever met. I can smell something fishy here.
She comes over as a really genuinly warm friendly lady and I hope the career goes well. I look forward to seeing her on screen up here again - on national. Hope they leave room for her personalily to get out!
Helen P, just for the record, was in the BBC by mid afternoon. Peter was alone because that was how it was meant to be.

So who's going to present with Peter Levy. Nicola is on baby-leave, maybe Helen P or one of the others. It'd be good if Caroline Davis presents with him.

I'll say it here, because that post sort of does imply I do.
I don't work for the BBC. I do a job which brings me into regular contact with the BBC... People I know are under the impression that Helen and I are friends from the way we have stood around chatting in the past, but we aren't, she probably doesn't even know my name. Work is funny like that, isn't it?
She's just a very friendly lady who I'll miss a lot. I would hope that to her actual friends she did say goodbye or she really isn't the person I believe her to be...
Hope that clears that one up a bit.

LMAO! The cleaners work for the BBC! Actually I wouldn't mind that job - they get go go inside the studio... Nice suggestion tho. I just come and go, I only see people when they happen to be where I am.

aswell it sort of opens several doors for you. if you ever read Ariel (the staff newspaper), not too many of the jobs have [E] beside them which means Externals May Be Considdered, but it does say somewhere, that if the [E] isnt there, you must work in a position for the BBC.

so cleaners may be included!

A minute or two of tonight's late Look North Leeds had no sound. There was also a dodgy count at the end leaving Ian to shuffle papers for a bit.

Except that the cleaners don't work for the BBC.
