Clearly a lot of planning has gone into this, both from the team and from where they were planning to visit. They’re understandably disappointed but this is very unprofessional.

How else would you have liked them to have announced it?

Perhaps their disapproval at the decision should not have been so obvious, whether perceived or real.

In a way that didn’t sound like a stroppy teenager.

Thank you for a good giggle!

Plus I struggle to believe that anyone watching gives as much of a toss about yet another tedious challenge as they do. You’d think Look North itself had been axed from the expressions on their faces.

I've just noticed he picks up a piece of paper like he's going to read the statement off it, but ends up reading from the autocue anyway.

That’s just a telly convention though, isn’t it? A bit like a newsreader changing their intonation slightly when “quoting someone”.

Maybe I’ve finally turned into a hard-nosed South East Today southerner but that reaction just seemed bizarre. I’d have thought they’d have gone for the warm and friendly ‘sorry’ rather than coming across as though someone had done something horrific. Maybe it was simply the short notice before going on air.
