Calendar flew by the seat of their pants tonight

Chris Dawkes was live at the Emirates to do the sport, and within about 30 seconds of starting, someone apparently used strong language in the background, so he immediately abandoned the broadcast and threw back to the studio.

Then John Shires had to be drafted in there and then to do the sport in the studio instead and the rest of the programme seemed a bit looser than usual.

On +1 they blanked it out with a slide. I’m surprised they are able to do such a thing on a regional broadcast.

They have to. Getting caught out on a live broadcast is one thing, but swearing before the watershed on recorded programmes is a no-no, even on a +1 channel.

Levy Live covered a story about a dog in the river Trent in Nottingham, doesn’t cover much of the king’s lynn Hunstanton area anymore, plus it’s not one of the place names in the new titles

I guess they consider that to be Look East territory then? Always thought King's Lynn was the most southerly part of the Look North Hull (and Calendar) region.

It's an overlap area since 1982 and the King's Lynn relay was built. The BBC will play it with a straight bat and have Look East cover it. You won't, and never would have had Points West covering Cardiff and Newport, despite Mendip's popularity that side of the Severn!

I suspect in return, Look Levy will cover the parts of Lincs (bordering P'boro) which are in the Sandy Heath reception area which would otherwise have Look East (Cambridge) as their local bulletin.

Levy seems absolutely obsessed with former Hull MP Alan Johnson's appearance on The Masked Singer!

Hull will occasionally take a King's Lynn / Wash Coast piece from Norwich if something particularly noteworthy or interesting has happened there, though. Or if they're having a slow day, I suppose.

The BBC should curb that - why would they advertise the other channel?

The days of blinkered television ignoring the opposition have gone. It was artificial anyway. A prime example being the extensive James May interview on 'The One Show' last night, trailing his two AZPV series now currently available.

Actually surprised the usual BBC bashers haven't insisted that their commercial rivals get trailers on the BBC. Indeed we're lucky they didn't have to promote the Local TV services.
