The Anglia office is now an employment agency (there was a photo of it in the local paper a couple of months ago, it's on the opposite side of the road from the bus station), and Yorkshire's (part of the Prospect Shopping Centre) was a restaurant that as you rightly say has closed down and is currently unoccupied.

Hull used to be in the Prospect Centre I think?

Walked through there six months, truly the most miserable shopping centre I have ever been in

Any chance of that pic at all please?

Indeed it was a calendar club store in December. I had a wander round thinking the likes of Tina Gelder used to work in this area. Sad I know! Razz

It was even worse when the food court was entirely closed off - though I haven't been there as recently as you have, perhaps it's got worse in the meantime.

Is it true that the York office was opened by Tyne Tees in response to the "Turn to Yorkshire" marketing campaign by YTV?

After the merger it became a joint facility branded as "Yorkshire Tyne Tees Television"

I’ve certainly heard that story before, and when I visited the shop there in the mid 90s, yes, it was dual branded.

It’s a tobacconist/vape shop nowadays.

The Yorkshire Show in Harrogate is another clash of regions. Last year, both Calendar and ITV News Tyne Tees sent reporters to the show. I remember asking the TT reporter if Harrogate is in their patch and got a clear yes.

That’s probably a good thing given that much of Harrogate struggles to get Yorkshire on DTT, with Otley Chevin blocking the signal from Emley Moor for much of the town. Bilsdale’s signal in comparison is much stronger.

Lincoln's YTV office was up Bailgate (Cathedral quarter effectively) and only a short direct walk to BBC Lincolnshire.

The rent/lease there must have been huge.

I always remember spotting it back on a family holiday in 2003. Big poster boards of Christine and Duncan in the window.

There was a time when Yorkshire and Tyne Tees did a joint broadcast at the Great Yorkshire Show.

Bob Rust and the TT weatherman bantering their way through a shared forecast under branded umbrellas for the respective stations.
