At least they didn't name the baby Peter, that would have meant years of insufferable ego.

Did anyone notice the mistake at the start of Calendar tonight. Instead of playing the headlines they played the ‘half way still to come’, and then had to fade it out to return to Christine live.

Surely its time for Peter to get an update to his set - must be a decade now of that same setup. It is looking so tired and dated. It is a shame they can't use the real windows overlooking Queen's Gardens.

If they'll be switching to Reith in the near future anyway, that would be a good time for ALL of BBC News to get new sets, not just Look North Hull.

There are suggestions that BBC local radio will be able to get their own individual jingles again at some point in the future, maybe the regions will also be allowed more leeway shortly as to the presentation and the sets, although with Look Levy it will probably be an armchair and a fireplace.

Evan Davis' programme The Bottom Line is a "radio on TV" crossover (BBC Radio 4 / BBC News Channel) with essentially a "tarted-up to look good on TV" radio studio.

Maybe they should give one of the BBC Radio Humberside studios such a makeover, and move Look ULL into there (simulcast on TV, and Radios Humberside & Lincolnshire)?!?! Laughing

Didn't the Hull opt start out in a converted radio studio at Radio Humberside's old building?

(For pure pedantry, I should point out the Bottom Line was actually in the Millbank studio made to look like a radio studio towards the end of its run)

It was a pokey old cupboard from what I remember of the place, the presenting desk so small Levy & Helen Morton/Fospero couldn't fit behind it properly. Radio Bumblesides offices were above the old crown post office in Jameson St with the BBC entrance stuck down the side in Chapel Street next to a newsagent. The desk/gallery was in Leeds as there wasn't room for any of that in the building.

I still don't understand why the presentation went solo. Yes, Helen left without any on screen farewell but she could have been replaced surely?!

Wasn't that during a period when the BBC was particularly skint, they chose not to replace her and save the salary.
