Thanks for that, Interesting. Its a wonder its never been changed, as most news programmes has had a change of name.

My reply was in response to that, I never suggested you WANTED the name to change. So time to lose the chip on your shoulder.

I've seen you in other threads and I think you really are a little bit slow.

If they cared enough about the non-Yorkshire parts of the region (e.g. Lincs etc) so as to not have a Yorkshire-biased news title , why was it always okay for the channel (or station or whatever) to have a Yorkshire-biased name?

It has always struck me as infuriatingly inconsistent! Evil or Very Mad

I think I'm right in saying that Yorkshire Television's transmission area used to be more squarely focused on Yorkshire itself, as it originally broadcast on the Bilsdale transmitter which covers North Yorkshire, and not on Belmont. When Bilsdale switched to Tyne Tees, Yorkshire started broadcasting on Belmont (instead of Anglia) giving them a lot more coverage across non-Yorkshire counties, but I imagine they wanted to keep the name despite this.

On tonight's Calendar someone was "slashing open the backdrop with a knife". The set is starting to take shape now and seems to be located in the middle of the studio rather than with its back against a wall.

Christine says that Monday's Calendar is going to be really exciting, but we can't say anymore about that yet. Sounds to be more than a new set.

Meanwhile Carolyn Hodgson seems to be reporting every night this week, she's hardly ever on these days

Oh dear god, surely not the second coming of Christ-a ?

Do we really think they're building the set this slowly ? It's probably already built and in rehearsals with them just leaking out a few shots every night.

Anyway here's tonights screenshots of the erection of Yorkshire's theatre of news :

Not sure about Bilsdale, but I know in the VHF era the Authority announcement in the startup routine was "Emley Moor and Scarborough transmitters of the ITA"

A very shambolic start to tonight's late Look North with Ian White. The opening sting music played as usual and then starting playing again, they managed to stop it but then cued up the first report which ran for a few seconds. Ian White then appeared and once he realised he was on, he starting talking, intitally without any sound!

Then at the end most of Ian's sign off was in mute as well!
