I've been listening to the jingle jangles at IQ Beats and I reserve judgement - they're a bit different, aren't they?

Oh I didn't know there were the full clean versions on there. Although a lot of the main jingles are not just clean but very clean in that they don't have the voiceover on them

It is to note that the 'Presenter Ramps' that people in those forums over there are going off on one about don't hardly seem to be being used. They arn't used on the main weekday programmes as a main jingle, one where the presenter name is spoken rather than sung is used, with the news music rather than those themes. Most of the examples on that site seem to be either for weekend presenters or people I've never heard of.

In other news, I noticed a sat truck arriving in Bradford this afternoon, who got out, only Duncan Wood and his crew, preparing for tonight's OB. Meanwhile Look North didn't even seem to cover it as far as I could see

How many studios have Radio Leeds got in the new building? Aparently Chris Moyles will be doing his show from there tomorrow, as will Phil Jupitus on 6 Music (presumably for the Leeds Festival), so does that mean Andrew and Liz will be in Bradford, or even at Woodhouse Lane or do they have more than 2 on-air studios?

And yes, four days at new home and then shunted out - they were in Bradford this morning to answer the question... and a lovely intro to the weather with Lisa Gallagher at 6 followed by a man. The well-known danger of having names on jingles...!

Although you could argue that the news agenda was Bradford biased with the C4 programme last night that got a lot of coverage so Bradford was probably the right place to be

In a creative position (graphics design, website creation/maintenance - I can use FrontPage and PowerPoint and am developing IT Support skills), as a researcher or behind the scenes providing general assistance..... I can't see myself as the next Christa Ackroyd no matter how many mock-up bulletins I do with Peter Levy in the BBC Hull Open Centre! I am restricted anyway as (don't know if you know this) I have Asperger's Syndrome. Causes emotional, social, perceptional and behavioural difficulties.... explains much of my behaviour.....

going off-topic here, but you'll be laughed out of any web design job if you turn up saying you can use FrontPage and Powerpoint

I will soon however, be starting a LearnDirect course, called 'Introduction to Website Design with Macromedia Dreamweaver 4' and 'Introduction to Web Animation in Macromedia Flash 5'...... would they be of more use?

Dreamweaver 4? That's several years out of date.. but yes Dreamweaver is better than FrontPage, writing your own code even better

Never realised IQ Beats did the Radio Leeds jingles! Very daring...and very nice. When you listen to the full range provided by IQ then you just think "Wonderful" - about the best you're gonna get for a BBC station nowadays I think. And how nice it is to hear some properly produced sung jingles for BBC local as well.

Shame WM decided to comission such a faceless package really!

Indeed - as was Thursday's from Leeds Smile

In all seriousness, not knocking the movement at all - I thought the double-header from Bradford + Leeds often sounded good and made sense, though you do lose the ability to bounce off each other so much if you're miles apart. For guests though, covering this half of the county from Bradford; t'other half from Leeds... Maybe they should come from the Town Hall basement in Huddersfield one day Laughing

I seem to remember the lunchtime news was done as a double header with Ian Timms in Leeds and Jon Hill in Halifax for a short while, the latter also having travelled down after Breakfast from Bradford.

Drivetime (which I notice has suddenly started playing music... the cynic in me wonders if someone has noticed that the presenter can't conduct an interview for toffee) did come from the Huddersfield studio before Christmas, can't remember what the occasion was though.

Rather than p-i-s-s-b-a-l-l-i-n-g about with a PM, I'm a Yorkshireman and I say what I mean. it's nice to see you have relied on your old favourite of the emotional disease......very tiresome.

Now I hope you enjoy your course, but some of us are busy with our careers and have experience of the real world. Sad to say, but you wouldn't last five minutes in the workplace. Shape up girl and stop running to teacher.
