Does it depend on who has done the lunchtime? If it's not Clare Frisby at lunchtime doesn't one of the 6.30 presenters do it and the other does the late bulletin? If it's that kind of set up then there are two presenters available for the shortened main programme, it's not as if somebody has come in specially.

Not necessarily, for example Luxmy is doing the late tonight and she wasn’t either of the two on at teatime.
I think on the day I posted that, Amy did both the short main and the late, Harry did the main only and a stand-in was on at lunchtime.
All the 15 minute mains have been double headed except for that first one mentioned.
It’s notable that Harry doesn’t do any other bulletin anymore, except in unusual circumstances, only his female copresenters stay back for the lates.
I think there were two solo headed mains. One on the Friday after the World Cup started and the Monday, both with Charlotte Leeming who did the weekend as well.
Looks like the traditional Great Yorkshire Show OB will be effected as Look North is only 15 mins long on Tuesday.
Often its been postponed later due to Andy Murray but a shorter length is probably even more troublesome.
Full length programme now, at 5:30pm. Odd to see it preceding the national news, suppose it’s to keep the News at Six at 6pm though. Strange that it’s been altered though, for the rest of the World Cup it seemed they’d rather just shorten the news than have it move to before 6pm. Suppose Wimbledon being in the mix complicates things though.

The heavy news we’ve had this week definitely seems a reasonable explanation.
When a similar situation occurred a couple of years ago with Wimbledon , I recall some regions doing their own ident and announcement, but most just going for network’s generic “the news where you are” ident and announcement.
